@dts: That's a pretty interesting idea for a new hero. Though as Ghull mentioned, it does seem a bit complicated for them to introduce Thackery in such a way.
It would be neat to see if they did implement a hero with an intricate story that spans time. But I feel the Dev team are going to choose someone with a much simpler past and relation to our characters.
@Para: Do the new books they released mention Blimm getting buried alive?

There's no one in the game that we're more familiar with than Rurik. My bet is on him

I say that it's Shing Jea Sherman. He has a pre-set skill bar of shouts and chants and echoes that he uses to make enemies cry like little school children.

To be honest, I've been kind of hoping it was Sherman too. He fights along with the party, but also sort of blabbers on about all your achievements while doing so.

Huh? There are already 3 ranger heroes in the game, but they still need to add another assassin hero. I certainly hope that they decide to add an assassin over something that we already have 3 of like an ele or a necro.

Stumme said there was only going to be one new hero, not that he was gonna make sure that there were three of every profession.

I don't care who it is as long as we get another necromancer hero. We do not have enough necromancer heroes. I want seven of them in anticipation of the update that will allow us to have seven hero parties.
If I had to guess, I'd say Necromancer Munne would be a good choice.

.........Dammit, now I want Salma as a hero.

not to get to far OT.....
but ya ever notice that Salma is in 2 places @ once. Quite a feat if you ask me. After doing the WiK stuff she can still be found in ToA. Which to me is just kinda wrong.
Another thing is i would suspect with this update.....the neat liltte trick of hero's calling targets for you will be a standard option on your hero's, as i imagine this would carry over as a feature for GW2 or is one already and implemented here as a test. Personaly, i like the idea....but it does get a bit tricky trying to time Thacks Sniper Shot with her calls. ran the the HoN line only once and by the end i still hadn't masterd the timing for that Sniper shot.
I would look for a lot of skills similar to that in GW2. Signs that they are going in a differant direction for sure.
As for new Hero's....we only have 1 Asuran hero @ the moment......
So i'd look for Oola, Blimm &/or Zinn.
And after 5 yrs we still don't have a charmable Griffin....Pheonix...Rainbow Pheonix...but no griff. :-(
What I'd really like to see is A ghost of some kind. Or a Male Norn to go with Jora.
And it wouldn't surprise me if at some point we see a female char. they will be in GW2 for sure.

well, if its a rit, i'd like to see http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Chiyo
if (really if) we get another ele hero: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Elementalist_Aziure
just for her armor, lol
if a sin i'd like to see chiyo's sis http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Emi
now that i mention it, if we get 2 more heroes with the prof of which we have less than 3, those 2 sisters would do
a female charr? would be fun
i hope its either 1 of those, or at least another race than human
what has been said before, an all-prof hero, i doubt it, but would be cool, i just hope they will succeed if they do it

I think this is the closest we've gotten to seeing a "female" Charr in GW1. Hah.

Or why not The Lost (margonite) as a third paragon hero?

they wouldn't give us more than 3 of a profession, so it must be an paragon, an ritualist, an mesmer or an assasin, and the most of the characters you are mentioning are kinda dead, i don't think they will make an return

Well we've heard the hero will be obvious once gained, someone we're familiar with, and also unexpected in some way.
I'm tossing out the idea, with many others here, that Keiran Thackery as a paragon. It seems obvious he would become a hero if we get him (going with Gwen for example), we're familiar with him, and it would be unexpected sort of to be a paragon because he's a ranger. But as we saw, the end of the BMP style missions he gained paragon skills, perhaps showing a change in his personality as he is now becoming a more leader type role.

Oh, i'm pretty sure it won't be Logan Thackery. Keiran perhaps, but not Logan.
The best ideas I've heard so far are......
Keiran Thackery as a Paragon
Togo as a Rit (but now that we know the hero comes with Hearts of the North and not Winds of Change, that idea is dubious)
Mad King Thorn as ??? (Mesmer?). We did just spend a week helping him return to the mortal realm. I think he owes us and will spend time bound to us as a hero if he does manage to return.
